New Years Day Bridge Jump & Race |
Competitors jump off the bridge, and compete to win the race. |
February 5th and 6th |
Shrovetide |
Like the name suggests, this event takes place on Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wendesday traditionally, at approximately 2pm the two sides, which are known as "Upards" and "Downards", let the games begin, the objective of the game is for each team to score a goal, the goals are three miles apart and the game can continue up until 10pm at night if no goal is scored!!

Antiques in the Street |
Local Antique Dealers recently set up this new fun day, where Church Street is closed to traffic, and the dealers set up stalls in the street, valuations can be carried out whilst visiting the town, or simply browse many of the stalls and look for a bargain. |

Fireworks Evening |
This year the fireworks evening will be
held on the Playing Fields of the Recreational Ground in
Ashbourne, there will be a Fun Fair, and smaller children's rides,
together with hot food and drink being sold, all in all an entertaining event, in a safe environment.

Late Night Shopping |
The Streets of Ashbourne are again officially closed to traffic to allow
them to be used to display a selection of charity and market stalls. The
Children's Lantern Parade will also be parading through the town. A
Fun Fair is also attending, with smaller riders for younger children.
The official switching on of the Christmas Tree lights also takes place upon this evening.

Carol Service |
