Married to Richard and mother of three children, . I attended school here in Ashbourne and went on to further education at Derby University, High Peak College where i studied hotel and catering management, institutional management, public health and hygiene and business studies. I am 55 years of age and retired from full time work five years ago. My interest are many and varied and include having children to come and stay from Chernobyl, of which i am the founder member of the Ashbourne Link and in that time have hosted some fifty children both with the charity and on private visits. Two children will be visiting my house at christmas to improve their immune system. I am chair of the Riverside disabled club which means in St.Oswald's Church hall every second friday of the month, we have a wide and varied programme of activites of which the starting age is 16years old I am the vice chair of the Station Road playgroup committee which deals with the accessability issues within Ashbourne and the wider area of the Derbyshire Dales. I am also a member of the steering group committee of readycall, a branch of the volunteer bureau which deals with a vast array of jobs from decorating, to letter writing, befriending to shopping for the less able members of iyr wider community. I have recently been appointed to the committee of the volunteer bureau as one of two council representatives. i have served on the town council for the past four years and hope to do so for as long as possible into the foreseeable future. I strive to do my best for the town of Ashbourne and am available via my email address to give help wherever i can. In the past i served on the planning committee of the council and at present i serve on the ammenities as vice chair, and the finance committees. To conclude, i am also a fund raising co-ordinator for the town council and at present and engaged with the Mayor, Councillor Hodkinson, in raising £5000 towards a defibrillator for the towns new hospital. |
